BOOKMAKER FINED £75
p.A. NELSON, Friday. For carrying on the business of bookmaker, Leo Patrick Bowden was fined £75 in the Magistrate's Court. He pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant Hayhurst said that Bowden was in business in a substantial way. On December 30, when the police visited his home, £859 of betting had been taken, and a further £52 was received while detectives were present.
