CROQUET TOURNEY
N.I. CHAMPIONSHIPS
MKS. KIBBLEWHITE LEADS Play was so long delayed this morning owing to wet conditions at the Mount Hobson Croquet Club, where the North Island croquet championships are in the final stages, that only one game in the three-game final of the ladies' singles championships had been completed at 1.30 p.m. In that Mrs. M. Kibblewhite (Whitiora Club, Hamilton) beat Mrs. W. Cole (Mount Eden), 26—23. The remaining games in this final, and the semi-final of the handicap singles between Mrs. Henrys and Mrs. Danby, are in progress.
The first championship game between Mesdames Kibblewhite and Cole had an interesting and exciting finishy Mrs. Cole had pegged the blue ball out, leaving Mrs. Kibblewhite to take six hoops and the peg with the black ball in order to win. Mrs. Kibblewhite made no mistakes in accomplishing this feat.
