TWO PRISONERS CAUGHT
U-BOAT ESCAPEES IN U.S.A. Re& 2.30. p.m. NEW YORK, -Jap..2. Halmut Drescher and Captain Hans Werner Krauss, two U-boat prisoners, who escaped just over two weeks ago, from Papago Park prison compound, Central Arizona, were recaptured in Arizona, 65 miles from the compound. Seventeen other at, large.
A cable dated.,/ New York, December 26, stated: "Stagiftg a mass break-through during a rain storm, 25 German prisoners, mostly officers, escaped from Fapagor Park prison, Central Arizona. Six of them have been recaptured. The camp commandant said the combination, of the Christmas spirit and elation at von Rundstedt's success led to the break."
