RECORD TOTE TURNOVER HOLIDAY INVESTMENTS Despite the fact that decreases were shown at four of the turf meetings held during the holidays, the totalisator investments over the whole of the fixtures held were £169,058 10/ above the figures entered up a year ago, and the total amount betted was £1,950,008 10/. The two Auckland meetings, the Auckland Racing Club and Auckland Trotting Club fixtures, were in the main responsible for the substantial increases. During the three days at Ellerslie the public betted no less than £650,592, and during the two days of the trotting meetings at Epsom, £293,383 10/. Two extra meetings, a day at Hastings and a day at Winton, were held this year, and these accounted for £61,231.
