HANDICAP TOURNEY
PLAY DELAYED BY RAIN
Owing to the heavy rain which fell in the early, hours this morning it was not possible to commence the 23rd annual Christmas grass court handicap tournament of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association until midday. The tournament has attracted a record number of entries, there being well over 200 players taking Pa Among those listed in the A. section men's singles is B. J. Baxter, winner of the event in 1941. Other players are T. Butts, runner-up to P. Smith in the Auckland intermediate championship last January, D. G. Kelly, runner-up to B. Broun, the last time the Auckand senior championship was played in 1942, Cr. Kerr-Taylor, runner-up to P.
