AID TO RUSSIAN ARMY
British Official Wireless Rec. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, Nov 3. The total tonnage of stores sent to Russia through the- Persian Gulf British and American supply lines has now reached 4,000,000 tons. This was announced by General Headquarters of the Persia-Iraq Comm These stores, at first essential to the Russians in repelling the Ger man invader, now serve a double purpose. They are helping the Red Army toward a complete victory and the Soviet Government to rebuild d0 The a s t tory a of 3 how the limited communications of Persia and Iraq wei e bliilt up to make such big tonnages possible is one of teamwork between the Allied Nations involved. Neither the British nor the Americans alone were responsible for carrying out the task. - They worked together, and with them worked the people of Iraq and Persia.
