BATTLEDRESS BEFORE CORSETS Present-day Corsets are produced under the most severe regulations as to how much time, labour and elastic may be put into each garment. War has priority. This explains why, in elasticity, variety and finish, Berlei foundations to-day are below their peace-timc standards. Berlei stitch for the Services, too; battledress and other apparel for the fighting forces must' occupy every minute of time and plant, over and above the strict minimum allowed for Corset manufacture. Berlei regret the need, but agree wholeheartedly with the wisdom of the restrictions, and do their best to cooperate in the national interests; which are, of course, ultimately the interests of women as well, if they bring the day of unrationed beauty nearer.—Advt.
