RESULTS OP COMPETITION '
The results of the children's art competition organised by the Sunlight League of New Zealand, have been announced. The contest was highly successful, over 400 pictures being sent in. The judges, Mr. R. Wallwork, director of the Canterbury College School of Art, Professor I. L. G. Sutherland, and Mr. Sidney Thompson, said they considered the standard of work was high. Entries came from all over New Zealand, and a number of schools took an active interest in the competition. Many paintings were entered by correspondence school pupils.
An exhibition of the pictures Is to be held in Christchurch shortly, and some of the best will be reproduced as murals in the permanent children's health camp soon to be opened in Christchurch. The prize winners ol the four picture series are.—First prize (£2), Diana Abercrombie (11), Bulcott School, Lower Hutt; second prize, Joy Chappie (IB), Te Puke District High School; third prize, Jack Galvin (14), Wanganui Technical College: fourth prize, Joan McCaw (13), Correspondence School, French Pass; fifth prize, Judith King (14), Karori, Wellington. The prize winners of the single picture class are.—First prize (10/6), Anne Cullen (8) u Te Aroha School; second prize, June Anderson (16), Bang! Ruru, Christchurch; third prize, Murray McKenzle (14), InvercargiU Technical College, Southland. Prize winners of donors' prizes are.— J. G. Henshaw (15). Nelson College; Betty AUen (14), Technical College, Christchurch; Joan Chappie (10), Te Matai Native School; Beverley Mill (IS), aisborne; Sid Micha, Te Aute College. Hawke's Bay; Jack Morgan (8), Auckland; Eric Narbey, Akaroa High School; Nan James, Wanganui Girls' College; Christopher McKee Wright, Fendalton Open-air School; Fay Sligo (6), Arthur St. School, Dunedin.
