THE FEMININE TOUCH
Lift girls have been a wartime innovation in a few public and military buildings in Auckland. In one of these lifts, in a prominent public building, a vase of flowers . has appeared as a direct offshoot of the feminine invasion. Passengers have been attracted by the sight of the vase clamped to the wall, and the lift girl told one person who commented on its bright effect that she arranged for it to be fixed there, and people often brought her flowers for it.
