Senior 'Varsity Teams In Rugby In Dunedin
The senior Rugby competition in Dunedin included four Otago University teams this season, on account of the Otago Union's inability to have a second grade competition. However, two of tne teams were dennitely not suited for the grade, according to southern reports. One of the others, Combined Faculties, was adjudged runner-up after an inconclusive competition, while Senior Medical was in a low position.
As in past years Aucklanders have been prominent in Otago University teams, one, J. M. Forman, formerly captain of the Takapuna Grammar first fifteen, being considered by some the best loose forward in the province, though he did not gain a place in the representative team. Another former Aueklander, E. J. Peterson, who was South Island left wing in the inter-island match on September 16, played well on the wing, while the Otago representative five-eighth R. Elvidge, was considered the best of the inside backs, ahead of D. Murdoch.
