MEN FROM PACIFIC
ABSORBED IN INDUSTRY (0.C.) WHANGAREI, Saturday. High priority industries absorbed all the 370 men returned from the Pacific in Whangarei district. Of these, 263 were placed on farms, 18 in dairy factories, 13 in sawmilling, 33 in building construction, four on the railways and two in coalmines. It is anticipated a further limited number of men from the Pacific will be available for direction in the district after the general review of the Army situation is completed.
