CITY PLAYS MT. ALBERT
THE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP Equal with 24 championship points, the City and Mount Albert teams will play on Saturday at Carlaw Park in the final of the Auckland Rugby League's senior club championship. City last won the championship in 1925, and previous to that in the 1921-22-23 seasons. Mount Albert won the championship in 1939. Owing to injury, S. W. Clarke, the City full-back, is not available, and Mount Albert will be without A. Jones, a promising five-eighth. Both teams will be strong in the forward. Prominent in the City pack this season have been H. Mataira and B. Leatherbarrow, the New Zealand representative players, and F. James, the North Island representative. In recent matches the Mount Albert pack has been greatly strengthened by R. Shadbolt, a front-row player, and H. Milliken, a New Zealand representative. In addition to the championship final two Roope Rooster matches will be played. Fixtures for Saturday are:— Championship Finalt—City v. Mount Albert, Carlaw Park, No. 1, 3 p.m., Mr. G.
