INTER-ISLAND LEAGUE
PROGRAMME FOR SEASON
Plans have been made for the interIsland League match to be played at Auckland on September 16 next. Representative matches Avere discussed at a meeting of the board of control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening. The chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, said that they had to finish the local competitions. Proposed representative matches were a North v. South Island match at Auckland, and a return representative match against South Auckland. In addition, the Wellington League wanted a representative fixture. Mr. J. Clark objected to the club competition being interfered with, and said that an inter-island match did not have a prior claim against Wellington or the West Coast. They should consider the clubs first.
Mr. "Watson said that the clubs got consideration all the time.
After discussion the following programme was tentatively agreed to: September 9: Injured players' day, Maori v. Pakeha match; September 16, North v. South Island match, and two Roope Rooster matches; September 23, four Roope Rooster matches; September 30, two Roope Rooster matches, and Auckland v. South Auckland; October 7, Roope Rooster final; October 14, champion of champions match. It was decided to offer to play the Wellington representatives, in Auckland, on October 21, this being subject to the Auckland competitions being concluded by October 14. The board decided that in the event of a play-off in the club championship being necessary it should take place on September 23, with the balance of the programme deferred one week, and the Roope Rooster matches arranged for September 16 played on September 23. Fixtures for next Saturday are: City v. Ponsonby, Carlaw Park, No. 1, 1.45 p.m., Mr. o. Kelly; Manukau v. Mount Albert, Carlaw Park, No. 1, 3.10 p.m., Mr. J. O'Shannessey; Richmond v. Otahuhu. Carlaw Park, No. 2, 1.45 p.m., Mr. R. Bailey; Marlst v. North Shore, Carlaw Park, No. 2, 3.10 p.m., Mr. J. Hawkes; Point Chevalier v. Newton, Point Chevalier, 3 p.m., Mr. J. Donovan. A letter from Mr. J. F. .Dickson, enclosing two medals lor competition, v/aa accented with thanks. The following players were registered: P. A. Maconaghte, North Shore; F. Cocks, Ponsonby; T. Pokawa, Manukau; M. C. Smith, Newton. A letter from the Otahuhu Club, protesting against the refereetng of the match between City and Otahuhu last Saturday, was discussed in committee, the chairman reporting, when the board resumed, that the club would bo communicated with. It was decided that no further * action should bo taken in connection with N. Johnson, of the Otahuhu senior team, who was ordered off in the match last Saturday against City,
