WOMEN'S HOCKEY
JIT. EDEN HELD TO DRAW | In a game full of thrills last Saturday, Training College forced Mt. Eden to a one-all score. During the first spell Eden were hot on the attack, with J. Morfat using good stick work, but both she and J. Miller were well marked by centre-half, M. Goulding, who played an outstanding game both on attack and defence. I. Peterson, Eden's left wing, made some good runs, but M. Housby was safe. The pacy Collegian left-winger, M. Freed, was also in form, and penetrated Eden s defence, and it was from a centre from this flank that B. Hutchings found the net from a scramble in the goal mouth. Half time sounded immediately. Play fluctuated from one end to the other, with Training College slightly superior in the second half. Both goalies were tried, and found to be on the alert, I-. Summerville using her feet well for Eden. In a final burst M. Corringham. with a good run, drew the College defence centred to a waiting forward line, and J. Miller made no mistake, scoring one minute before tir N e orth Shore had its first; outright win of the season, defeating Air Force in a closely contested game. The seasiders played with more cohesion, and have an acquisition in L. Callaghan, a half-back. Th #. SC Lamby?
