NEW WOOL SEASON
APPRAISALS NEXT WEEK The 1944-45 wool season will open next week with the first appraisal at Wellington on August 9. It will be followed by appraisals at Wanganui on August 11, at Napier on August 14, at Gisborne on August 15, and at Auckland on August 22. Wool is coming in fairly freely to the Auckland stores, and between 4000 and 6000 bales are expected for the appraisement later in the month. There was no carry-over from last season. The wool comprises mainly crutchings, but includes a proportion of fleeces, bellies and pieces.
