FRIDAY NEXT —A TIME TO REMEMBER THOSE OVERSEAS Surely no one will refuse to help send Christmas parcels to our Forces Overseas? No—of course not! On Friday next, in a special Christmas Street appeal, the Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Committee aims to collect £3000, all for the purpose of sending Christmas parcels to our Forces Overseas. £3000 will enable the Committee to send 6000 parcels (cost is about 10/ each). Here's how we expect to get the money: ■>00 Auckland citizens to each put £5 in a collector's box £1,000 1 000 Auckland citizens to each put £ 1 in a collector's box 1,000 4,000 Auckland citizens to each put 2/6 in- a collector's box 500 10,000 Auckland citizens to cach put 1/ In a collector's box 500 £3,000 Will you be one of the 15,200 Aucklanders who can make it possible for us to reach our objective? Don't be content with putting in a small amount and thinking that it will do. It is not that small amounts aren't appreciated—they are, but we want those who can afford it to say: "Yes, of course I'll do it!" and put in a "Fiver" or a "Pound" with the best of good grace and a feeling of pride in what they're doing to make it a happy Christmas for our fellows overseas. . . , If you're not coming into town on Friday next send your donation to:— Auckland Metropolitan Patriotic Committee, Shortland Street, Auckland. — Advt.
