EXCHANGE RATE
No action by the monetary conference limits the freedom of any country on the exchange rate prior to the creation of the fund, states the United States Chamber of Commerce in reply to the Bureau of Importers. The bureau sent a gram to the chamber stating that as a large section of the commercial community in New Zealand considered the present was an opportune time for the Dominion to adjust its arbitrarily fixed exchange rate to a parity with the British pound sterling, it was very surprised to learn from a report from Mr. Nash, who was the Dominion's representative at the conference, that United States opinion differed. . The cablegram from the chamber added that there were. no discussions on the New Zealand situation.
