U.S. FIGHTER SHUTTLE
BETWEEN ITALY AND RUSSIA Rec. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, July 27. Mustang and Ligfitning long-range fighters returned to Italy after their first three-day fighter shuttle run between Italy and Russia, in which they shot down 64 German planes over Rumania and Poland, and destroyed many more on the ground for a total loss of two planes, says Reuters Rome correspondent. The fighters on Tuesday participated with, Russian planes in an attack against the Mielec aerodrome in Poland.
