MRS. C. W. BOSWELL
ON HER WAY TO RUSSIA
Mrs. Boswell, wife of Mr. C. W. Boswell, New Zealand Minister to the U.S.S.R., who left t<>day with members of the staff to ;'oin her husband, is well known to Aucklanders. She is a former secretary of the Penwomen's Club, and a writer of merit.
While in the Bay of Islands, where she went with her husband in 1935, Mrs. Boswell, who is a Justice of the Peace, was one of the few women who have sat on the Bench. She was also a member of the executive of the Women's War Service
Auxiliary. She was on the panel of lecturers for the League of Mothers and the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union, and her talks were mostly on Russia and the position of women in that country. Mrs. Boswell said before she left that she knew that as the wife of the Minister to Russia there would be certain duties, such as entertaining, to be done, but she did hope that she would have an opportunity to do some work among women's movements or hospitals.
