REP. MATCH PLANS
SOUTH AUCKLAND GAME The board of control of the Auckland Rugby League, at a meeting last evening, finalised arrangements for the first representative match of the season between Auckland and South Auckland, which will be played at Carlaw Park on S.aturday week. It was reported that a junior curtain-raiser match would be played, also representative schoolboys' matches. The Auckland Referees' Association was granted permission to appoint a South Auckland referee for one of the curtainraiser matches. An application from I. Te Weri for a transfer from Marist to Mt. Albert was discussed. The player said he had not had a game for five weeks, and his allocation to a club in a lower position in the championship was deferred until Saturday, ■ Mr Watson reported to the board that a deputation from the Marist Club had waited upon him with a request for more matches on the main ground at Carlaw Park. He said that he explained to the deputation how the draw had been made. A vote of thanks was passed to the ladies' committee for a donation of £o2 10/ for the injured players' fund.
Fixtures for next Saturday are: Otahuhu v. Marist. Carlaw Park No. 1. 1.45 p.m., Mr J. O'Shannessey; Richmond .v. Manukau, Carlavi Park No. 1. 3.10 p.m., Mr. J. Donovan; Mt Albert v. North Shore, Carlaw Park No. 2. 1.45 p.m.. Mr S Billman* Ponsonby v. Pt. Chevalier, Carlaw Park No. 2, 3.10 p.m., Mr. J. Hawkea; City v Newton 3 p.m.. Pt. Chevalier. Mr. H. Tate. 'The Auckland lourtn eracie representatives to play the South Auckland Junior representatives at Carlaw Park on Saturday. August 5. will be chosen from the following: W. Harris. A. Speedy, W. Wright, Streeton, Fhilp (Otahuhu). Gwilllam, D. Shaw (Newton), P. Roberts. D. Greaceh, P. Chapman, G. Chapman (Ellerslie), G. Clark. L. Cook, Donnelley (Papakura), Anderson. Somers (Pt. Chevalier).
