COMPLETE DEFEAT OF HUNS CLAIMED

BY POLISH GENERAL

Evacuating Warsaw, Says Patriot Army Chief

Rec. 12.30 p.m. LONDON, July 25,

The Times correspondent says a report from General Bor, Comman-der-in-Chief of the Polish underground Army, to the Polish Government in London, states that the Germans on the Eastern Front have suffered a complete defeat. "Three armies on the central front have been completely routed," he states.

"The German High Command is unable to put in new forces in sufficient strength to check the Russian advance. German soldiers are extremely tired and have no fighting spirit left. The latest attempt on Hitler's life, coupled with the military situation, may at any moment lead to the collapse of the German armies in the east," the' report adds.

The German news agency commentator, von Olberg, declared that a tremendous battle was raging m the east. It had its storm centre between the Bug and the lower courses of the San and Vistula Rivers, where Russian armies, under cover of an extraordinarily strong air umbrella, are ceaselessly attacking the retreating Germans. German counter-measures against the Baltic break-through were making themselves felt, he claimed. The Russian northern front, von Olberg said, had been brought to a halt along a line from Dvinsk, east of Rezekne, west of ustrov, and west of Pskov, to the southern tip of Lake Pskov, and west, ot Narva. Numerous single attacKs along this front have begun, including a major attack on the Narva bottleneck. The United Press Moscow co-res-pondent says that Russian infantry, equipped with Russjfin and American lorries, and captured German transport, -are able to advance with tanks and cavalry, thus increasing tne speed with which German strongpoints are being wiped out.
