INCREASED REVENUE
CARLAW PARK POSITION SOUTH AUCKLAND MATCH "Despite bad weather there has been a considerable increase in the gate takings at Carlaw Park this season," said the chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, at a meeting of the board of control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening. He added that it had been the biggest revenue for the past four seasons. The South Auckland Rugby League advised that its representative team would play the Auckland representatives at Carlaw Park on August 5. The Otahuhu Borough Council wrote stating that Sturges Park was let for the duration of the war to the Auckland Rugby Union. The Mount Albert Borough Council advised that Phyllis Street Reserve had been granted to the Auckland Hockey Association for the present season.
Fixtures for next Saturday are:—North Shore v. Ponsonby, Carlaw Park, No. 1. 1.45 p.m. Mr. H Payne; Manukau v. Otahuhu, Carlaw Park. No 1. 3.10 p.m., Mr. J. Donovan; Mount Albert v. 'Newton, Carlaw Park, No.. 2, 1.45 P Bailey; City v. Richmond. Carlaw Park, No 2. 3 10 pm., Mr. G. Kelly; Marist v. Point Chevalier, Walker Park, 3 p.m., Mr. H. Tate. The following playors were registered. W. r. Bicknell, Point Chevalier; J. H. Catterall, Point Chevalier. .
