Pioneers and Descendants' Club. — The Rev. Waite gave an address on the pioneering of the early Methodist leaders. Mr. McNeil, a returned soldier, also spoke. Xew Women's Club.—Miss Olive Foster gave a talk on "Modern Trends in the New World." based on J. B. Priestley's book "Out of the People," condemning the "masters and masses" tendency which led to Fascism and making a plea for the development of a social consciousness leading to a new, true and vital democracy. The president, Mrs. P. Humphreys, presided. Radiant Health Club.—Miss Irene Rutherford took for her subject "Keys To Right Living." To know from whence you come, to realise the central source of real power within you to understand and control the mental man of the body, to recognise the divine background, said the speaker, were the fundamental keys to right living. W.D.F.TJ. (Auckland Branch). —At the Y W.C.A. rooms Miss E. L. Dood presided over the monthly meeting of the Auckland branch of the WD.F.U. A collection of squares for cot quilts for the residential nursery was handed in and also a number of oven cloths for the rest homes. Reports were given of visits paid to patients in the hospitals. Mrs. R. S. Judson and Mrs. R. Campbell reported on the work of the adult education week. Support was given to the work, of the Dominion Settlement Association.
