BIG PRICE FOR TROTTER Negotiations for the sale of the brilliant Quite Sure Trotter Blue Horizon are expected to be completed this week, states the Southland Times. The nrice has been fixed at £1500, but the sale is subject to a favourable examination by a veterinary surgeon. Should there be any hitch, Mr. D. Dawson intends entering Blue Horzon for the trotters' race for four and five-year-olds at Addington at August.. SALE OF CASTIGATE Another Southland trotter is reported sold to a northern buyer. This is Castigate. the six-year-old Quite Sure gelding owned by Mr. H. W. Browne and trained by S, Kirby at Wyndham. Castigate is from a Grattan Loyal mare and in his last few outings this season he has shown encouraging form. Ke started racing as a four-year-old, but was unsteady in his gait "and failed to gain a place in four starts. Last season Castigate developed speed above the average, and although he reproduced it on the track he was -unable to trot steadily enough to win races. He had only two starts; this season he has been started 12 times for two wins, a second, two thirds and a fourth. At Winton and Gore, where he won, he showed exceptional speed once lie settled down.
