ELECTION IN JULY
AUCKLAND EDUCATION BOARD Nominations closed yesterday for the election of seven members of the Auckland Education Board. The election will be held on July 19, when three representatives of the Auckland urban area, one of the Hamilton urban area and one of the north ward of the rural area will be chosen. The sitting members for the east and west wards, Messrs. A. Burns and J. Patterson, have been returned unopposed. Following are the nominations, the names of retiring members being marked with an asterisk:—Auckland urban (three seats): Mr. W. S. Adams, Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, Messrs. W. H. Fortune*, W. E. Kilburn, J. A. McGowan, Mrs. A. M. McNair, Messrs. C. S. Morris*, M. Priestley*, T. Turbott and J. Williams. Hamilton urban (one seat): Messrs. J. M. McWhannell and F. W. Mead. North ward: Messrs. J. G. Draper, D. McCarroll, T. W. McCown and R. T. Wrathall.
