WEST COAST ACCEPTS REQUEST FROM WELLINGTON Advico that the West Const representative team was prepared to play the Auckland representatives at Auckland, on Juiy 10, was received at a meeting of the board of control of the Auckland Rugby League at a meeting last evening. The West Coast League wrote stating that an application had been made for permission lo travel to Auckland. Inquiry had also been made regarding a match at I-luntly, on July l(i. The South Auckland Rugby League asked for a representative match at Carlaw i'ark on July 8, or July 22. It was decided lo defer tlie matter until further advice was received from the West Coast Rugby League.
A request from the Wellington Pairrby League for a representative match, against Wellington, at Wellington was also deferred.
Mr. Watson said that the question of representative matches v.as tiexj. up with the question of travel permits, and a number of conflicting statements had been made. However, the matter could be gone into further.
Fixtures for next Saturday are:—Manukau v. Mount Albert, Carlaw Park No. 1, 1.45 p.m., Mr. J. Donovan; Richmond v. otahuhu, Carlaw Park No. 1, 3.10 p.m.; Mr. O. Kelly; Newton v. Point Chevalier. Carlaw Park No. 2. 1.45 p.m., Mr. H. Payne; City v. Ponsonby, Carlaw Park No. 2, 3.10 p.m.. Mr. H. Tate; Marist v. North Shore, at Ellerslie, 3.10 p.m., Mr. s. BUlnmn.
Tho transfer of H. R-. Geo from Mount Albert to City, was ppproved.
The following players wcro registered;—G. Cunningham, city seniors; W. A. J. Groves, Point Chevalier seniois.
It v.'i-s derided to send a letter of condolence to the relatives of the lnte Mr. T. Avery, who had had a long assoc.ation with the code as a player and referee.
