LAUNCHMAN'S CLAIM
Evidence was concluded yesterday afternoon in the hearing before Mr. Justice Fair and a jury of the claim by Lawrence Harold Daveney (Mr. Henry and Mr. Newbery) against the Public Works Department (Mr. V. R. Meredith and Mr. E. O. Williams) for £2510 damages arising out of the loss at sea of a barge hired by plaintiff to the Department.
To-day addresses by counsel and his Honor's summing up were taken and the jury retired at midday.
