LEAGUE CODE
MATCH POSTPONED
SOUTH AUCKLAND FIXTURE
The Board of Control of the Auckland Rugby League decided at a meeting last evening to postpone the proposed representative match between Auckland and South Auckland.
Th.e secretary, Mr. T. Culpan, said advice had been received from Huntly that the Government had asked the miners to work on Monday, June 5. and it %vas considered the match should be postponed until a later date. To obviate unnecessary delay of teams coming out from under the grandstand during the half-time spell in early games, the Referees' Association urged that all players in the early games should remain on the field during the half-time spell. The suggestion was declined, Mr. R. Doble stating that this procedure was followed some years ago and was not a success. It was decided to enforce the rule about getting players out in time. Fixtures for next Saturday are:—
Mount Albert v. North Shore, Carlaw Park No. 1. 1.45 p.m., Mr. J. Donovan; Richmond v. Manukau, Carlaw Park No. 1, 3.0 p.m., Mr. S. Billman; Point Chevalier v. Ponsonby. Carlaw Park No. 2, 1.45 p.m., Mr. H. Tate; Marist v. Otahuhu, Carlaw Pork No. 2, 3.0 p.m., Mr. G. Kelly; Newton v. City, Grey Lynn Park, 3.0 p.m., Mr. E. Pope. The Referees' Association drew attention to encroachment of spectators on the grounds at Carlaw Park before termination of games, stating games would be held up until the lines were clear.
The following transfers were approved;—G. Carey, Richmond to Mount Albert Seniors; J. Sullivan, Ponsonby to Newton Seniors: D. A. Hutchinson, City to Newton Seniors; G. Montgomery, Mount Albert Third Grade to Point Chevalier Seniors.
