RECORD BUSINESS

R.S.A. MEMBERSHIP These are days of unprecedented rush and bustle at Auckland R.S.A. headquarters (still at Wellesley Street). Never before has such a consistent stream of members calling at the office to pay their subs, been dealt with as since the present year opened on April 1. Up to vesterday just on 4000 members had made themselves financial for the current year, anrt of that number approximately '1000 were men of the present war. Probably the most harassed member of the staff is Mr. W. S. Turner, "Tubby" to all and sundry, who is the outside representative of the association and is in daily demand from all parts of the city and all kinds and conditions of firms and factories. "Little Man You've Had a Busy Day" is his favourite melody when the day's work is ended. T t is many years since such interest was evinced in the association's affairs, and it has become a custom, with members meeting in the street, at eating houses or other places, to scrutinise closely the date clip on each other's badge, with consequent "slinging off" at any clip 3 e n °k t obtained this year's

As at this dale last year the number of financ.al members was 2022, which has been doubled, confident hopes are raised of the 10,000 mark being topped this year. + + + +
