Australia in New Zealand, Mr. T, G. de L. D'Alton, has not resigned his seat in the State Parliament. Mr. Dalton receives £4500 a .year in salary and allowance as High Commissioner, and £500 a year as a member of the State Parliament Much bitterness, is reported to have been aroused in Labour cir ?les because of his action in not resigning and there is a likelihood that the Parliamentary Labour party will be instructed by the conference not to move for lG3ve of absencG when the new session of Parliament begins.
