SOLDIERS AND AGENTS

WELLINGTON, this day. A statement that certain land and estate agents were refusing to co. operate with the Government in itg desire to acquire individual freehold farming property for overseas discharged soldiers, although such property was on the market for any civilian purchasers, was made by Mr Hodgens (Lata., Palmerston North) hi notice of a question to the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, in the House of Representatives. Mr. Hodgens asked that arrangements tae made for a list of competent and willing established land and estate agents to act in each city < borough, or alternatively that instructions be issued to the State Advances Corporation to have lists compiled of all such farms offering, thereby enabling discharged soldiers to make direct personal contact with the vendors.
