SMALLER TURNOVER

Business was quieter on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day, but a firm tone prevailed throughout. Ordinary shares of Huddart-Parker, paying 12 per cent, which were ex dividend yesterday, sold at £3 3/3. Previous business locally in this scrip was in July last year at £2 19/. In the banking section firmer offers were made for Unions. Five issues of Government stock were quoted ex interest to-day. Sellers of miscellaneous debentures were more numerous than for some time.
