The Northland executive of the Isext-of-Kin Association last nirht unanimously supported a motion that returned personnel of all services be gi anted 28 days' furlough with pay for each year's service overseas. The president cited the case of a member of the R.N.Z.A.F. who was given 28 days' furlough after four years abroad. The extension of travelling permits to men of the Merchant Marine was also urged, as was an increase in the mufti allowance for discharged servicemen to £45! The Rationing Controller is again to be approached asking that an additional butter ration be made available to next-of-kin to make cakes for men overseas.
