MR. MAIN'S STATEMENT
MINISTER "NOT INFLUENCED" (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The remarks attributed to Mr. A. Main, general manager of the Waitemata Electric Power Board, regarding power shortages generally, must be taken as expressing his personal opinion, stated the Minister of Works, Mr. Semple, to-day.
"He certainly did call on me and on the chief electrical engineer to discuss electricity," said Mr. Semple, "but he did not come as the accredited representative of any organisation. Therefore, while naturally I shall take notice of it, I do not propose to be influenced by Mr. Main's statement to the Press."
