SYSTEM OF VOTING
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day.
A petition requesting that proportional preferential voting and the initiative be placed c<n the Statute Book as soon as possible was presented in the House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. Parry, as member for Auckland Central. It was signed by 80 Auckland residents, who stated that, in their opinion, the Parliamentary machinery had remained stationary for a period longer than could be considered good, and did not give full expression to the system of democratic government.
