CHANGE OF VENUE GRANTED
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. An application by the Banks' Peninsula Racing Club to hold its summer meeting at Riccarton on March 4, instead of at Motukarara, has been granted by the Minister of Internal Affairs and the New Zealand Racing Conference. The change of venue will be widely appreciated by followers of the sport, as, under existing conditions, it would not have been possible to hold a meeting at Motukarara. STEEPLECHASE PROSPECT Edward, an aged Nightmarch gelding trained by S. Barr, is giving good schooling displays over the brush fences at Riccarton. He is reported to be in forward condition and is being prepared for a trip to Riverton at Easter. FOALS BY HAGEX It is reported that there are some good foa's by Hagen around the Taihape district this season. Hagen, an unsound horse, but a first-grade galloper, v.-as destroyed some time ago after breaking a leg. HAS RESUMED TRAINING There has been no further development in the negotiations for the sai.i of Macedoine. The mare did so well during her spell after the Wellington meeting and took on so much condition that the original intention to give her a long holiday has been dropped and she has been put into training again, states a southern writer. Unless she is sold she will be got ready for the Great Autumn Handicap to be run at Riccarton at Easter. THE GLEXFALLOCH STABLE t McLean, who trains Glenfalloch at Hastings, has had Kindlewood added to his team, and he will be raced in partnprshiD bv Mr. H. H. Smith, owner of and Mr H. W. Blackmore, who has been racing Theatre till recently.
