IRWIN—SMITH

BRIDE WEARS TURQUOISE BLUE The marriage took place at noon to-day of Miss Janet Smith, only daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. M. Smith, of Rawene, to Flying-Officer Peter Miles Irwin, of Christchurch. The ceremony was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Robb, St. Mark's Road, Remuera, and the Rev. David N. Pryor officiated.

The bride, who was given away by Mr. Robb, wore a jacket frock of turquoise blue flat crepe, with a large leghorn hat swathed with turquoise velvet. A bouquet of shot silk roses was carried.

The house was beautifully decorated for the occasion with hydrangeas and gladioli, and on the tables were pink carnations and water lillies. Mrs. Smith received her guests wearing a frock of tan crepe, with hat and flowers to tone. Mrs. Robb was in nattier blue, with hat to match, and carried red roses. An aunt of the bride, Mrs. Pollard (Wellington) also attended.
