PRESERVATION OF BUSH
(0.C.) TAUMARUNUI, Thursday. The Minister of Rehabilitation, Major Skinner, on a visit to Taurriarunui last night, was approached by local body members regarding the preservation of bush on the new Taumarunui -. Tokaanu road. He motored over the road yesterday in fine weather, and stated that the view was incomparable. The Government had practically completed negotiations for the bush, he said, and it wculd be preserved although selected timber trees might be removed without detriment at times.
