MINE DISPUTE SETTLED
(P.A.) WESTPORT, Thursday. ....The Coal Commission, Messrs. C. Strongman and A. Prendeville. sat at Millerton to go into the dispute between the Millerton Miners' Union ■and the management regarding coal -for- home consumption. It was :decided that the miners' request should be granted. 'Mr. Prendeville communicated with the Minister of Manpower, Mr. McLagan, to-day, and got an assurance to the union that a doctor would be dispatched to Millerton at an early date. The Miners' Union called a general meeting for to-night, but owing to the absence of the Birchfield and Granity members it was adjourned until 11 a.m. tomorrow.
