ISLAND HURRICANE
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, announced to-day the receipt of a report of storm damage in several of the Cook Islands. The report states that there was a severe storm on the night of December 15, which apparently developed north of Palmerston Island, moved in a south-easterly direction and visited all the lower group of islands except Rarotonga and Mangaia, causing damage to houses and crops.
