Gunner Daniel James McDougall, aged 25, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan McDougall, of Waihi, has been reported killed in an accident in the Middle East. Gunner McDougall was born in Waihi and was educated at the Waihi South and Waihi High Schools. He served with the Eighth Army throughout the first and second Libyan campaigns, being wounded in the latter. He was a keen athlete and was prominent in football, hockey, cricket and swimming.
