NEW CLUB FORMED

DIGGER SHIPBTJIJCDERS A step that augers well and could, with advantage, be copied on a much wider basis, was taken this week by old and young Diggers employed, by United Ship -and Boat Builders, Ltd., when an exservicemen's club was formed. The encouragement of the spirit of comradeship of the services amongst workers, and its infusion into industry generally, is calculated to have the most beneficial results and the workers in the industry concerned are to be complimented" in setting an example which it is hoped many others will emulate. A very large percentage of the workers attended the initial meeting, when it was decided to form the club, and the election of office-bearers showed fine blending of representatives of veterans of the last war and the present. Officers were elected as' follow: —Patron, Mr. A. V. Tver: vicepatron, Mr. S. P. Robertson (both last war); president. Mr. J. Claridgc; vicepresident, Mr. A. C., Macßeachen (both Second N.Z.E.F); secretary, Mr. E. Sprag-; gon (last war): treasurer, Mr. P. Bonnett (Second N.Z.E.F); committee Messrs. O. Hensen, C. Newsham, W. Parker. * * * * PRISONER MOVED Advice has been received by his mother, Mrs. H. A. Molyneaux, of 10, Hemi Street, Narrow Neck, that Gunner W. C. Molyneaux, who was formerly a prisoner of war in Italy, has been removed to Stalag XLA -* DIGGERS' CRICKET Fixtures for next Saturday, December 18, which will be the last series this vear, the recess extending till January 8, are as follows:—Pt. Chevalier v. Takapuna at Takapuna; Grey Lynn v. Newmarket, Outer Domain No. 2; Onchunga V. Diggers C.C., Outer Domain No. 3; Parnell, a bye.
