NAZI SOLDIERS' HOPES
BIG OFFENSIVE NEXT SPRING Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 10. German front-line ■ soldiers pin their hopes of victory on the great German offensive next spring, says the Associated Press correspondent with the Fifth Army in Italy. They believe that Germany is husbanding her forces for a last desperate attack, aimed at smashing the tightening Allied steel ring.
Prisoners in Italy told American officers that the present shortages of food and war supplies are due to the fact that they are being saved for a great offensive.
