NEW ZEALAND'S ROLEj Commendable Share In Reverse Lend-Lease N.Z. Press Association—Copyright Rec. 2.30 WASHINGTON, Nov. 11. President Roosevelt, in his lendlease report to Congress, said that •New Zealand, no less than Australia a*;i the United Kingdom, had suppled its share of reverse lend-lease totalling 51,000,000 dollars to June 30, 1943, including supplies and services of foodstuffs 24,000,000 dollars, camps 6,000,000, hospitals 3,000,000, 'warehouses 5,000,000, miscellaneous 7,000.000, ship construction 6,000.000. New Zealand, with Australia, was the food basket of the American forces stationed throughout the South Pacific. New Zealand had increased her capacity for packing, canning and dehydration in order the better to supply our forces. New Zealand also supplied numerous articles of clothing. In order to fill American requirements New Zealand had rationed civilian clothing to less than one full outfit a year, while American requirements had occasioned other shortages in New Zealand's civilian life.
