GERMANY'S SECRET WEAPON ABANDONED ON THE RUSSIAN STEPPES.—The multi-barrelled weapon which can project smoke, fire and explosive shells in one action, is claimed to be Germany's newest secret weapon. These are the fog-throwing machines which have been used extensively on the Russian front, and their fog has also been encountered by Allied bombers raiding Germany. It is claimed that the "Nebelwerfer," as the machine is < ailed, is electrically controlled and is capable of firing great distances. The Eii/hth Army met it in Tunisia aiSd renamed it "Hitler's secret flop," as it did not live up to the propaganda claims made for it.
