PETROL SUPPLIES
Last week petrol was made available for four women to make a sight-seeing flight over the Franz Josef Glacier. When I recently made application to a fuel controller in a country district for a license to take me, in my Austin 7 car. to visit my husband in hospital I was refused, despite the fact that the nearest regular passenger service was six miles from my home. Surely the visiting of the sick, and in this case a returned soldier, is of greater importance than sight-seeing, besides requiring considerably less petrol. D. WILLIAMS.
