FULL-TIME MEMBERS

REHABILITATION BOARD

APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. The appointment of two full-time members of the Rehabilitation Board, the chairmanship of which he had now assumed, was announced by the Minister of Rehabilitation, Major Skinner. They are Mr. S. W. Gaspar and Mr. C. W. Batten, both at present members of the board, who, with the director, LieutenantColonel F. Baker, will form the Central Executive Committee. Lieut-Colonel Baker also has been appointed a member of the Rehabilitation Council and Rehabilitation Board. In commenting on the Government's decision to establish a special Rehabilitation Department as from November 1, the Minister said the new Department would have centralised in it under Lieut-Colonel Baker, the general administration of all rehabilitation measures. The Rehabilitation Board, staff and the staff of the Rehabilitation Division of the National Service Department were to be merged into one Department and, as far as possible, only officers who were themselves ex-ser-vicemen would deal with returned servicemen.

"Once the Department is established and working smoothly," said the Minister, "we will go right ahead with our plans for the rehabilitation of ex-servicemen."
