Confirmation of plans for the conclusion of the Auckland Rugby League season was announced at the meeting of the executive last night. South Auckland advised that it would be sending a strong team to meet Auckland at Carlaw Park on Saturday week. The Blackball team, champion side of the South Island, notified that it would be coming to Auckland to play Manukau on October 10. The chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, said that, according to southern critics, Blackball was the strongest club combination seen for years. The junior control board advised that the following teams had won the season's competitions:—Third grade, Point Chevalier; fourth grade, Richmond; fifth grade, Point Chevalier; sixth grade, Mount Albert; seventh grade, Point Chevalier. It was agreed to play the Phelan Shield matches on Saturday week, and the final on the following Saturday. The main fixture for next Saturday will be the champion of champions match between Manukau and City at Carlaw Park at 3 p.m., Mr. S. Billman being referee. The curtain-raiser will be between the Richmond and Newton fourth grade teams.
