PRESENTATIONS MADE
LOXG SERVICE RECOGNISED On the occasion of. his retirement after 36i years' service with the Challenge Phosphate Company, Ltd., and its predecessors, presentations were made yesterday to Mr. Gilbert Brown. The function took place on the lawn in front of the office during the lunch hour. Presentation of an illuminated address was made on behalf of the companv by the superintendent, Mr. W. Cassois-Brown. Letters and telegrams conveying appreciation of past services, and good wishes for the future, were received from the chairman of the company, Mr. J. T. Martin, the managing director, Mr. W. Goodfellow, and ■ the manager of the Invercargill branch of Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., Mr. John Mac-Donald. The Challenge Phosphate Company presented Mr. Gilbert Brown with a wallet, and the employees made a similar presentation. An old associate, Mr. Thomas Slade, expressed the good wishes of work-mates. Mr. Gilbert Brown is 70 years of age. and recalled the fact that he started work at the age of in Years. With his wife, he has lived for many years at Otahuhu.
