ARMY BAN LIFTED LONDON. Shoulder titles for battle dress are to be issued. For security reasons only certain units have been allowed this distinction up to the present, but now the ban has been lifted. Infantry units will wear the titles of their regiments in white lettering on a scarlet background, in a similar manner to the Guards. Others will have their foundations in blue, white, green and other colours.
Home Guards will not change from {heir present title badge. hi peace time it was easy to distinguish a man's regiment, its name was usually pinned in brass on his shoulder. But these badges were scrapped in case the enemy might locate units and formations in war.
The new title badges will be welcomed as a great assistance on parade, especially for recruits. Cap badges are not always discernible, especially in the service caps now issued.
